Measuring Progress

Who knew it could be a metabolic breakdown product that could be causing David the most trouble as he is trying to recover?  He developed a very bad case of gout.  Right now we are waiting for the gout inflammation to be under control.  It is preventing him from wearing shoes and standing on and using his big toes.  Do you know how much you rely on your toes when you are standing, walking...or even kicking some one?  Try to walk without putting any pressure at all on you big toes...it really changes everything about how you move.

David is much more alert.  He is enjoying visitors when they come in and regale him with their stories.  We appreciate everything that our friends and relatives are doing for us.  It is very difficult to convey what this whole experience has been like.  I feel like I am in another world.  It isn't a bad world.  Just the fact that David is still here and fighting to recover is great! Come by and visit...mid afternoons and evenings are great times to visit.  After his rehab sessions he eats lunch and rests.  We look forward to seeing you!

He is at the Colonades on Shadowcreek Parkway in Pearland, Room 509
